We are a provider of quality water and wastewater services in the City of Mbombela Local Municipality.

On a daily basis, Silulumanzi provides the delivery of approximately 120 million litres of safe drinking water to satisfy the thirst and needs of approximately 400 000 people within the City of Mbombela Local Municipality. Silulumanzi is a subsidiary of South African Water Works (SAWW), a proudly South African Water utility that has been entrusted to render water services to the City of Mbombela under a 30-year concession contract. Silulumanzi first commenced business in 1999 and has a proud  track record in excess of 20 years in the water industry. We employ first world expertise gleaned from its former international shareholders (Sembcorp, Cascal and BiWater).

Silulumanzi traces its origins from 1999 when the Nelspruit Transitional Council tendered to have the water services as part of a Public Private Partnership (PPP).   Silulumanzi was the company formed to render these services in terms of a 30 year concession contract, following the appointment of BiWater as the successful bidder.

Over the years Silulumanzi grew and gained from its international links and ensured the development of skills at a local level to have a management team and shareholders that are today 100% South African. Recognising the need for transformation SAWW is joined by Brain Gear Investments, a black owned company from the City of Mbombela as a shareholder in Silulumanzi.

The accomplishments of Silulumanzi have not gone unnoticed having achieved the prestigious Platinum Blue Drop and Green Drop awards from the Department of Water and Sanitation. To reaffirm the company’s commitment to deliver world class services, Silulumanzi is ISO accredited for safety & health, environment as well as quality management systems.  Having grown from approximately 150 staff since its inception to over 350 staff members, Silulumanzi has played a critical role in alleviating unemployment, skilling development and thereby contributing positively to the growth of the local economy.
